COURSE 106: BOOKKEEPING FOR SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS
COURSE 106: BOOKKEEPING FOR SMALL BUSINESS
This course is not designed to turn business owners into professional bookkeepers. Instead, it teaches owners what they need to know to work effectively with their bookkeeping system, bookkeeper, accountant, and other financial professionals. Core Course Message: Reconciliation isn’t about making the numbers match. It’s about understanding why they don’t match—and correcting legitimate errors.
Course Level
Beginner / Early Intermediate
Duration
2 hours
Format
Instructor-led workshop with demonstrations, discussion, and hands-on exercises.
Prerequisites
Basic familiarity with bookkeeping concepts and financial transactions is recommended.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of bank reconciliation, including why reconciliation matters, how to match transactions, how to identify outstanding transactions, how to investigate discrepancies, and how to establish a consistent monthly reconciliation routine.
Through guided examples and hands-on exercises, participants will work through a complete reconciliation and learn how to approach differences systematically rather than simply trying to make the numbers “match.”
